Snapdragon Compute Platform, Developer Kit aids app development

Qualcomm Technologies’ believe that great collaborations deliver great results. That is why we collaborate closely with OS vendors as well as application developers to ensure your favorite applications work on the Snapdragon Compute Platforms. To help continue to drive the ARM developer ecosystem forward, we have announced the Snapdragon Developer Kit. A cost-effective PC that developers can test and find optimizations for x64 applications and drivers for Windows on Snapdragon. Thanks to the Snapdragon Developer Kit, ARM 64 Developers will now be able to easily access the Qualcomm AI engine and some of the most advanced camera and audio capabilities available on our Snapdragon Compute Platforms.  

Working with OS vendors, we’ve enhanced the capabilities of software for Snapdragon and created a number of new resources and tools for developers and OEMs. Today, Snapdragon supports all variants of Windows 10. Support for x64 applications have come a long way since Microsoft announced their support for x64 applications on Snapdragon in the Windows Insider’s builds in 2020, to a full release coming soon. The Snapdragon Chromebook will now benefit from Snapdragon performance, connectivity, and efficiency as we’ve added Chrome OS support. 

We continue to elevate our support for developers, helping to ensure x86 applications run just as well or better on Snapdragon which uses ARM instructions. As more and more developers move their applications over to ARM 64, they find that the performance and power efficiency of Windows on ARM just gets better.
