Most Anticipated PC Games of 2022

2022 looks set to deliver an onslaught of exceptional PC games from insanely talented development teams around the world. The front end of the year is already loaded with almost too many big guns ready to blaze, and there are plenty more waiting in the wings for release later in the year. For this roundup, we hand-picked the 2022 PC titles we’re most excited to play. The only question is whether your wishlists and wallet can handle them all.

Dying Light 2 Stay Human

Following the explosion of Dying Light onto the survival FPS scene in 2015, developer and publisher Techland has taken the time to craft a worthy sequel with Dying Light 2 Stay Human. The game delivers a stunning backdrop in front of which to unleash gory violence, and one which makes the breathtaking parkour moves even more of a treat. Oh, and the virus is still wreaking havoc, of course.

Total War: WARHAMMER III

The epic finale to the award-winning strategy series that just keeps on giving, Total War: WARHAMMER III will feature a vast campaign map to maneuver your fantasy hordes across as you seek total strategic domination of the battlefield. The Realm of Chaos is about to get very lively.

GRID Legends

Battling on some of the best circuits in cities worldwide has always been in the GRID franchise DNA. This fifth iteration of the smash Codemasters/EA series includes new locations such as London and Moscow, fresh features, an eclectic roster of vehicles, and an epic story mode captured using virtual production techniques. The all-action racing, either offline against AI or online with cross-platform multiplayer, will keep players entertained for miles on end.

Elden Ring

This game needs almost no introduction. Developed by award-winning studio FromSoftware, with worldbuilding by both venerated fantasy author George R.R. Martin and FromSoftware’s creative mastermind Hidetaka Miyazaki, fantasy action RPG Elden Ring has gamers across the world fizzing with excitement. Will you have what it takes to claim the Elden Ring and become Elden Lord? Take a week off work in February to find out.

Shadow Warrior 3

The demon-gore-soaked FPS franchise is getting its biggest installment to date in 2022. Protagonist Lo Wang is armed with his katana, a ton of wild new weapons, and a whole fresh repertoire of zingy one-liners as he leaps effortlessly through the dynamic environments to relieve the endless parade of weird beasts of their spines. Expect the spectacular.

Redfall

Redfall is an open-world co-op FPS with a super cool aesthetic from Arkane Austin, the team responsible for some of Bethesda’s biggest barnstormers. Your foes aren’t just average vampires — they’re victims of a particularly ill-conceived science experiment, so they’ve got a nasty chip on their shoulders. Expectations are justifiably high for this supernatural-infused demonic shooter.

Gotham Knights

Ready to step into the roles of the new guard of trained DC Super Heroes in Gotham Knights? That is exactly what you’ll do in the upcoming open-world, third-person action RPG that allows you play as either Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood or Robin as you rise up to become the protector of Gotham City in the wake of Batman’s death.

Starfield

There’s still a while to wait for this first new game universe from Bethesda Game Studios in 25 years, but something tells us it’ll be worth it. In the videos released so far we’ve been treated to epic art in the finest sci-fi tradition and what looks like some sublime world-building. If this is humanity’s final journey, we’re going out with a bang.
