Embedded World 2022: Qualcomm, robotics, AI, and the connected intelligent edge

In this video from Embedded World 2022, Qualcomm experts discuss the latest use cases for the connected intelligent edge, including IoT, automotive, AI, robotics, and RFFE.

Focusing on the convergence of wireless connectivity, distributed AI, and efficient compute power, Hans Sturesson (Qualcomm Europe Senior Director, Sales) and Ognen Basarovski (Qualcomm CDMA Technologies Senior Manager, Product Marketing) demonstrate a replica of the Ingenuity helicopter, which is used by NASA in its Mars research program. The Ingenuity helicopter is powered by Qualcomm technology, including the Qualcomm Flight Platform.

In addition to the NASA helicopter, Sturesson and Basarovski also demonstrate a robotic arm (important for the future of factories) and a robotic caterer (useful for the future of hospitality, and able to interact with guests). Both the robotic arm and the automated caterer are designed by Thundercomm, and feature the Qualcomm Robotics RB5 Platform. The Qualcomm Robotics RB5 Platform pairs excellent connectivity with on-device AI, machine learning, superior computing, and intelligent and rugged sensing capabilities, allowing OEMs to build autonomous robots.

Qualcomm technology is hastening digital transformation across industries, including autonomous robotics. From the factory floor to outer space, Qualcomm robotics technology is changing the way we navigate the world.
