Here’s a summary of what we know about the Intel Arrow Lake architecture based on the latest sources:

  1. Release Date and Naming Scheme:

    • The Arrow Lake chips are expected to launch sometime in Q4 2024.
    • Unlike previous generations, these chips won’t be called the “15th-gen Core i.” Instead, they will be part of the new “Core Ultra” naming scheme.

  2. Architecture Changes:

    • Hyperthreading (HT) will be ditched in Arrow Lake processors.
    • There will be no SoC E-cores either.
    • Arrow Lake CPUs will only support DDR5 memory.
    • The absence of LP E-cores (Low Power Island E-cores) is a revelation. These E-cores were introduced in Meteor Lake chips to enhance efficiency by offloading light and background tasks to the E-cores available on the SoC tile.

  3. Process Node:

    • Arrow Lake CPUs will be built on TSMC’s 3nm N3 process node. However, there have been rumors suggesting it might be built on Intel’s 20A process node (equivalent to 2nm by conventional naming standards), but this remains unconfirmed.

  4. Specs:

    • Arrow Lake desktop CPUs are expected to have up to 24 cores.
    • They won’t have hyperthreading.
    • The integrated GPU (iGPU) will be GT1.
    • The thermal design power (TDP) is 125W.
