EA Sports FC 25: Women’s Soccer Debuts in Career Modes

Electronic Arts has unveiled exciting updates for the upcoming EA Sports FC 25, marking a historic moment as women’s soccer is introduced to the career modes for the first time. This year’s edition promises a plethora of changes, with the inclusion of women’s football being the standout feature.

Women’s Soccer in Career Modes

For the first time in the franchise’s history, EA Sports FC 25 will feature women’s soccer in both Manager and Player Career Modes. Players can now manage teams from five major women’s leagues: England’s Women’s Super League, the NWSL in the US, and the top leagues in France, Spain, and Germany. Additionally, the Women’s Champions League will be included, offering a comprehensive experience.

The game ensures parity between men’s and women’s career modes, though it reflects the unique financial dynamics of women’s football, such as lower budgets, shorter contracts, and a smaller transfer pool. Managers may also switch between managing men’s and women’s teams, adding a new layer of strategy.

Live Start Points

A significant update for Career Mode is the introduction of Live Start Points. This feature integrates real-world updates from 11 top leagues and 17 major cup competitions. Players can start their career at any point in a real-life season, incorporating actual game results, player form, injuries, and more. This allows for dynamic and challenging gameplay scenarios.

Legendary Players in Player Career Mode

Player Career Mode will now include legendary stars who have retired from professional soccer. Icons such as Andrea Pirlo, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Kelly Smith, and Thierry Henry will be available at launch. Pre-ordering the game grants access to additional legends like Ronaldo (Brazilian), Zinedine Zidane, and David Beckham.

Introducing Rush Mode

EA Sports FC 25 introduces a new five-versus-five experience called Rush. Unlike the previous Volta mode, Rush is integrated into the core game modes, including Ultimate Team, Clubs, and Career Mode. This mode features the same gameplay depth as traditional 11-a-side matches but on a smaller pitch with unique rules and fluid player positions.

Enhanced Tactics with FC IQ

The game also overhauls tactics and positioning with FC IQ, building on previous technologies like HyperMotion and PlayStyles. Players will have more control over team setups, transitions, and off-the-ball movements. Over 50 new assignable player roles will be available, powered by real-world Opta data and custom AI, leading to more authentic gameplay.

Visual and Gameplay Improvements

EA Sports FC 25 brings several visual and gameplay enhancements. New weather effects, more reactive sideline figures, and additional skill moves like drag turns and back-heel nutmegs are included. The game also introduces professional fouls, allowing players to deliberately foul opponents to stop attacks, though this comes with risks of yellow and red cards.

Next-Gen Visuals and Accessibility

For the first time, the FC series will feature ray-tracing in an enhanced visuals mode, targeting 60 frames per second. Goals can be viewed from a first-person perspective in replays, and a new user interface aims to be more accessible.

Availability

EA Sports FC 25 will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, with some features exclusive to these platforms. The game will also be released on PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on September 27. EA Play subscribers and Ultimate Edition buyers will get early access on September 20.
