Intel 310 Processor: Dual-Core Desktop CPU with 4.1 GHz Clock

Intel 310 Processor Spotted: New Dual-Core Desktop CPU with 4.1 GHz Clock

Dual-Core CPUs Are Here to Stay

Intel continues to innovate in the entry-level CPU market with the introduction of the Intel 310 Processor, a faster version following the release of the Intel 300. Despite discontinuing the Celeron and Pentium brands with the Raptor Lake series, Intel remains committed to maintaining this segment with the new “XXX Processor” naming convention.

Key Features and Specifications

The Intel 310 Processor, launched in early 2024, builds on the foundation laid by the Intel 300. Known to be in development since mid-2023, this new processor has now officially entered the market. Contrary to expectations, both the 300 and 310 are desktop CPUs, similar to the Alder Lake-N series, but based on Performance (large) cores rather than Efficient (small) cores. Each model features two cores:

  • Base Frequency: 3.9 GHz for the 300, 4.1 GHz for the 310
  • Hyperthreading: Supported on both models
  • Integrated Graphics: UHD Graphics 710, a 16 EU version of the Xe-LP core

Performance and Use Cases

While the 310 offers a slight speed increase over the 300, neither model includes a turbo clock. These processors are designed for basic functionality, making them suitable for embedded systems and large wall displays, thanks to their ability to output up to a 5K 120 Hz image and support popular video codecs.
