PS5 Pro Might Launch in September
The alleged design of the PS5 Pro has been shared by Dealabs, who claim to have seen the packaging of the new console.
The most important information—though still a rumor—is that Sony may hold a PlayStation Showcase by the end of next month, where the new console could be revealed. This information is not confirmed by Dealabs but comes from Jeff Grubb, considered a reliable source.
Dealabs provides additional details, claiming to have seen the packaging for the console, which is now confirmed to be called the PS5 Pro. While they cannot share a direct picture due to copyright reasons, they have provided a drawing of the design.
The PS5 Pro is said to have a design similar to the PS5 Slim released a few months ago. It will be white and feature two USB Type-C ports on the front, along with a power button. The chassis is expected to have three black stripes in the middle and to be slightly thicker.
An important detail is that the device seen by the leakers does not have a physical drive, though this may only be related to the specific model they saw. The PS5 Pro is not expected to come with new controllers and will ship with the same DualSense controllers.
The PS5 Pro is rumored to feature 8 Zen 5 CPU cores and new RDNA 3 graphics with RDNA 4 Ray Tracing acceleration. The updated APU is said to have 60 Compute Units, up from 36 on the standard PS5, and 16GB of memory clocked at 18 Gbps, compared to the 14 Gbps on the current model.
It is alleged that the product may be announced in September, but the launch date has not been set. Sony is likely aiming for a release window in the holiday season.
