Intel Arrow Lake Halo Resurfaces After 2 Years: Enthusiast Mobile Workstation CPU with Powerful Graphics

Intel Arrow Lake Halo: Potential Response to Strix Halo

Could Intel still release its Halo processor, even though there haven’t been any leaks in over two years?

A recent mention of the Arrow Lake Halo processor prompted us to check whether something had changed or if there were any traces of the processor in shipping manifests. To our surprise, the NBD website, which aggregates such manifests, recently listed this processor as being in transit, with entries from July this year.

The manifests clearly mention the “Arrow Lake Halo Enthusiast Mobile Workstation,” which, from our understanding, indicates that this is a CPU+GPU replacement in a single package, similar to what is expected from AMD’s Strix Halo—a package combining a high-performance CPU and GPU.

However, the Arrow Lake Halo is not a new rumor. In fact, it surfaced two years ago and was first revealed by AdoredTV, who stated that Halo was intended to be a lead vehicle on the N3 process and would feature GT3 graphics with up to 320 Execution Units. However, the document did not specify which graphics architecture this processor would use, so presumably, it means Xe-LPG, similar to the Arrow Lake-H. That would translate into 20 Xe-Cores.

There hasn’t been any information about this processor since then, although some rumors suggested that Intel might have scaled down the graphics at some point. Perhaps this product is still on schedule and could appear later, around the time when Strix Halo is expected to be released (early 2025).

The document did mention that the package, featuring 6 P-Cores (Lion Cove) and 8 E-Cores (Skymont), was designed to compete in the premium 14-inch laptop segment, where Apple’s M-series currently enjoys popularity. The same segment will be targeted by Strix Halo, but gamers also hope to experience this silicon in more gaming-centric designs.
