Lenovo Legion Go Lite with 7-Inch Screen and Dual-Fan Cooling
Sunday, August 04, 2024Lenovo Teases New Legion Go Lite with 7-Inch Screen and Dual-Fan Cooling
Lenovo’s Legion Go Series Set for a New Release
Lenovo has been relatively quiet about its plans for the Legion Go series, but recent hints suggest a new device is on the horizon. Competitors like ASUS with the ROG Ally X and MSI with the Claw featuring Lunar Lake are already unveiling new devices, putting pressure on Lenovo to reveal its next move.
Smaller Screen, Enhanced Cooling
Back in May, rumors surfaced about Lenovo potentially launching a smaller version of its console. While details remain scarce, the product page for the Legion Go hints at significant updates. The new device is expected to feature a 7-inch screen, a reduction from the current 8.8-inch model, and dual-fan cooling, an upgrade from the single fan in the current version. Additionally, the new model will include an HDMI port, which is absent in the current model.
Community Expectations and Software Enhancements
The community has expressed frustration with Lenovo’s slow rollout of new features, especially those already available on competing devices. However, the good news is that it’s relatively easy to mod or install official AMD drivers on the Legion Go. Features like AMD Fluid Motion Frames 2, still in beta, have already been tested by some users, offering special performance modes for integrated graphics.
Future Prospects and Speculations
Neither ASUS nor Lenovo have confirmed plans to launch AMD Strix Point-based handhelds. It appears that manufacturers are either waiting for the Strix Halo, which promises more powerful graphics, or AMD is still finalizing the specs for the Ryzen Z2 series.
