AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB GPU Review
6/05/2025
AMD's Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB and 8GB GPUs launch tomorrow. Our review of the AMD RX 9060 XT 16GB tests the card versus the NVIDIA RTX 5060, the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB, prior AMD RX 7700 XT, 6600 XT, and similar GPUs, and even the GTX 1060 6GB. A large portion of the initial commentary focuses on what we believe to be misleading statements by AMD that reshape the conversation about what is acceptable for a $300 GPU in 2025. AMD, like NVIDIA, is taking advantage of consumers more aggressively than we've seen in the past; this is unfortunate, seeing as the company initially showed some self awareness with the RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 launch. Still, we focus on benchmarks and compare the new GPU to alternatives on the market and as an upgrade option. We also show the VRAM limitation issues for 8GB cards, though we aren't testing the 9060 XT 8GB model today (that'll be in a separate piece; we're not sure when yet, as we want to add some extra depth).
