Intel Talks The Road to Panther Lake: Hybrid Compute

Intel’s next-gen mobile processor codenamed Panther Lake is built on foundational technologies that have evolved over multiple generations. In this episode of Talking Tech, we dive deep into hybrid computing and explore its early Lakefield implementation, the transition to Performance Hybrid Architectures in Alder Lake and Raptor Lake, and the introduction of a low-power island in Meteor Lake’s that continued in Arrow Lake and expanded in Lunar Lake. Intel architects and engineers explain our complementary Performance-core and Efficient-core architectures, how Thread Director and platform software ensure they’re used effectively, and some of the challenges we faced developing this this unique approach to managing CPU workloads.
