Couldn’t Wait for Valve’s 2026 Steam Machine… So I Built One!

I couldn’t wait for Valve’s upcoming 2026 Steam Machine… so I built my own. In this video, I recreate the form factor and specs of Valve’s upcoming Steam Machine using used parts from eBay, a surprisingly capable ASRock DeskMeet X300, and a budget Radeon GPU I found on AliExpress that turned out to be a flashed RX 6600M — and shockingly, it actually works. We install SteamOS 3.9, test performance in games like Elden Ring, Cyberpunk 2077, Spider-Man 2, The Witcher 3, DOOM: The Dark Ages, Japanese Drift Master and more, and push this tiny PC to see how close it really comes to what Valve is building. If Valve can deliver what they’ve shown for the official Steam Machine, 2026 is going to be a HUGE year for living room PC gaming — but until then… this thing is awesome.
