343 Industries has confirmed that Halo Infinite will cease all live-service updates after Season 6 concludes in January 2026. The studio is pivoting resources toward “multiple new projects” within the Halo universe, ending four years of seasonal content, battle passes and multiplayer balance patches for the 2021 shooter.

What “End of Support” Means
- No new seasons, maps or battle passes after January 2026
- Matchmaking, online co-op and Forge will remain online “indefinitely”
- Future bug fixes will be limited to game-breaking issues
- Catalog cosmetics will rotate on a monthly cadence; no new premium items
Season 6 is the Final Season
343 Industries outlined the roadmap in a blog post on 8 November 2025. Season 6, launching 3 December 2025, will add two new Arena maps, a Battle Royale overhaul and a 100-tier battle pass. Once the season ends, no additional content drops are planned.
Studio Pivot – “Multiple New Projects”
343 Industries states staff are “moving on to multiple new projects within the Halo universe.” No titles, genres or release windows were announced. Insider Gaming previously reported that a Halo battle-royale spin-off and a Master Chief campaign reboot are in early development; 343 did not confirm those details.
Player Impact
Existing owners can continue to play multiplayer, co-op and use Forge after January 2026. Server populations are expected to shrink, but Microsoft has not announced any shutdown date for online services.
Bottom Line
Halo Infinite’s live-service era ends in January 2026. Season 6 is the final content drop; beyond that, 343 Industries is dedicating its team to new Halo projects. Multiplayer will stay online, but players should not expect new maps, modes or balance patches after the new year.
