CES 2026 is shaping up to be a major event for gaming and tech, and this year we’re taking our coverage directly to the source.

Looking Back at a Strong Year for GeForce NOW

Last year was a solid one for gaming overall, especially with the rollout of Blackwell-based RTX 5080 hardware across the GeForce NOW platform. Performance upgrades, better visual fidelity, and RTX feature support continued to push cloud gaming closer to local hardware experiences.

Now the question is — what comes next?

What We Expect from GeForce NOW in 2026

With RTX 5080-powered servers already live, 2026 could be a defining year for GeForce NOW. While NVIDIA hasn’t revealed everything yet, there are several key areas where meaningful improvements could arrive.

Lower Latency & More Consistent Performance

Latency consistency remains one of the biggest challenges in cloud gaming. With upgraded data center hardware and continued network optimizations, we expect NVIDIA to push even closer to near-local responsiveness, especially for fast-paced and competitive games.

Expanded RTX Feature Parity

RTX features like ray tracing, DLSS, and frame generation are already major selling points for GeForce NOW. In 2026, we expect broader parity across new releases, making RTX the standard experience rather than a bonus.

Improved CPU Scaling for Strategy & Simulation Games

Games that lean heavily on CPU performance — such as builders, simulations, and large-scale strategy titles — still have room for improvement in the cloud. Smarter CPU allocation and scaling could significantly boost performance in these genres.

Tier Enhancements & Smoother High-Refresh Gameplay

As displays continue pushing higher refresh rates, further improvements to supported frame rates and premium tiers could help GeForce NOW maintain its lead over competing cloud gaming services.

If CES 2026 delivers even a portion of these upgrades, GeForce NOW could further solidify itself as the premier cloud gaming platform.
