Swiss Round 3: Can G2 Survival the Monday Morning Ax?

The honeymoon phase in Romania is over. After two days of high-octane CS2, the Swiss System has sorted the contenders from the pretenders. Tomorrow, we crown our first playoff-bound teams—and send our first three rosters home.
The 2-0 Pool: Fighting for the Top Seed
Three teams enter Monday undefeated. Only two can advance directly to the Playoffs tomorrow.
| Matchup | Time (CET) | Prediction |
|---|---|---|
| Vitality vs. MOUZ | 13:00 | Vitality 2-1 |
| Falcons vs. FURIA | 16:00 | Falcons 2-0 |
Vitality looks terrifyingly efficient, having dismantled G2 and The MongolZ. However, MOUZ (currently the youngest roster in the top 5) is playing a fearless style of Counter-Strike that could disrupt apEX's calling.
The 0-2 Pool: The Elimination Zone
The biggest shock of the tournament is G2 Esports. After narrow losses to Vitality and a stunning upset by PARIVISION, the star-studded roster is one BO3 away from a historic 0-3 exit.
- G2 vs. paiN Gaming: G2 should win on paper, but their mental state is clearly fractured. If malbsMd and NiKo don't find their rhythm in the first half of Map 1, the pressure might be too much.
- HEROIC vs. 3DMAX: Two teams struggling for an identity. HEROIC’s revamped roster has lacked the cohesion needed to close out late-round situations.
The 1-1 Pool: The Middle Ground
This is where the Major is won or lost. Natus Vincere (NAVI) looks to recover from their loss to MOUZ as they face Astralis. This "Classic Derby" will likely be the most-watched match of the day outside of the advancement games.
Expert Pick: The Upset to Watch
Watch The MongolZ vs. Aurora. The MongolZ have shown they can trade blows with the best in the world. After pushing Vitality to overtime on Dust 2, they are the dangerous "dark horse" that no one wants to see in the 1-2 pool.
