Cubyz: a Zig voxel sandbox
Cubyz is a 3D voxel sandbox inspired by Minecraft. It is written in Zig, a small language with a focus on readability. The project supports Windows and Linux; Mac is not supported due to the absence of OpenGL 4.3.

From Java to Zig
Until August 2022 Cubyz was written in Java, with code preserved in the Cubyz-Java repository. The Zig rewrite started then. It is now maintained by IntegratedQuantum, who also handles releases and Discord announcements.
Features
The project highlights level-of-detail rendering (enabling far view distances), 3D chunks with no height or depth limit, and procedural crafting that allows infinite tool crafting. Mod support exists via the mods directory and rotation modules.
How to run
The easiest path is downloading the latest source zip, extracting it, and running run_linux.sh or run_windows.bat. A compiled version requires a compatible Zig version and can be built with zig build run. No external tool installation is required for basic play.
