What the October 6 hotfixes cover
Per Blizzard, the October 6, 2026 hotfix list consolidates fixes for World of Warcraft: Midnight plus the Classic and Hardcore trackers. Some hotfixes take effect the moment they are implemented, others need scheduled realm restarts, and some problems cannot be addressed without a client side patch update. The same page remains a living document and adds new notes as more hotfixes are applied.
This article summarizes the October 6 block by category, the same way the page lists it: Classes, Dungeons and Raids, and Player versus Player. Developer notes quoted in intent come from the official page and are attributed to Blizzard throughout.
Fix categories at a glance
| Category | Scope on October 6 | Themes in the notes |

Class changes
Per Blizzard, the class section opens with Death Knight Unholy. A recent bug fix caused Blightfall to deal significantly more damage than intended, so Blizzard is reducing Blightfall to 100 percent of the remaining plague damage, down from 200 percent, and it is also correcting Augmentation Evoker Reattribution damage from plague erupt effects being attributed to the Death Knight.
Demon Hunter Devourer receives a broad single target package. Per Blizzard, many of Devourer's single target damage sources are being buffed to match expectations more closely. Consume/Devour, Reap/Cull, Eradicate on the primary target, and Collapsing Star on the primary target each gain 8 percent damage. The Hunt initial damage and Voidblade damage each gain 10 percent. None of these Devourer changes affect PvP combat.
Monk Brewmaster durability is the next focus. Per Blizzard, Brewmaster death rates in dungeons ran higher than intended, so rotational damage reduction sources are being adjusted. Quick Sip now purifies 8 percent of the current Stagger amount each time the Monk gains 3 seconds of Stagger duration, up from 5 percent. Pretense of Instability grants 10 percent dodge for 8 seconds after drinking a Brew, up from 5 seconds.
Monk Mistweaver is getting raid focused attention. Per Blizzard, Invigorating Mists healing rises 15 percent, and Enveloping Mist healing rises 15 percent outside of PvP combat. Subtlety Rogue Trickster gains ground against Deathstalker: Fazed now causes enemies to take 7 percent more damage, up from 5 percent, Unseen Blade damage rises 15 percent, and Coup de Grace damage rises 10 percent, all outside PvP.
Shaman Enhancement rounds out the class notes. Per Blizzard, all ability and auto-attack damage increases 4 percent outside PvP, and Lava Lash damage increases 35 percent outside PvP, raising its share of the spec's breakdown.
Dungeon and raid changes
The dungeon and raid block is entirely Ula'tek in The Venomous Abyss. Per Blizzard, General stage changes reduce Spectral Coils damage by 20 percent on Heroic and Mythic, reduce Toxic Burn damage by 30 percent on Mythic, and cut the number of waves that emit from a tail during Caustic Waves to 3 on Mythic, down from 7.
Stage 2 adjustments reduce Warden's Protection damage by 80 percent, reduce the number of ground targets during Virulent Spit, reduce Grasping Fangs periodic damage by 30 percent on Heroic and Mythic, and reduce Blight Vein duration to 4 seconds on Heroic and Mythic, down from 6 seconds.
Stage 3 changes reduce Blightscale Shrieker health by 20 percent and Blightscale Clutch health by 20 percent on Heroic and Mythic, reduce Slithering Clutch health by 20 percent on Mythic, and reduce Circling Prey raid damage by 30 percent on Heroic and Mythic. Per Blizzard, Serpent's Bite's drain rate is also adjusted so no more than 3 players are needed to soak regardless of raid size.
Player versus player changes
Per Blizzard, the PvP pass buffs several underperforming PvP talents to widen options. The Tank specialization Focused Assault package affects Death Knight Murderous Intent, Demon Hunter Tormentor, Druid Alpha Challenge, Monk Admonishment, Paladin Inquisition, and Warrior Oppressor. Focused Assault now stacks to 6, up from 5, lasts 10 seconds instead of 6, has a 15 second cooldown instead of 20, and reaches 15 yards instead of 10.
Death Knight PvP notes cut Dark Simulacrum cooldown to 15 seconds, make Blood Death Chain hit 4 targets instead of 3 with 500 percent higher initial damage, and adjust Price of Progress so the Death Knight cannot be slowed under 100 percent of normal speed rather than 90 percent while sacrificing 1 percent health every 1.5 seconds instead of every 1 second. Frost's Death's Cold Embrace now boosts Remorseless Winter damage by 450 percent, up from 400 percent.

Restoration Druid's Ancient of Lore: Mass Blooming now benefits from Wild Growth talents such as Improved Wild Growth and Early Spring, and its healing rises 30 percent.
Evoker Dreamwalker's Embrace damage rises 140 percent, while Augmentation gains 8 percent all damage in PvP combat and a 5 second Seismic Slam stun, up from 4 seconds. Hunter Hunting Pack radius grows to 40 yards, up from 30, and Beast Mastery's Dire Beast: Hawk gains 500 percent damage and now deals Nature damage instead of Physical.
Mage Fire raises World in Flames Flamestrike bonus to 75 percent, up from 50, and Glass Cannon to 25 percent, up from 20. Frost sees Frost Bomb damage up 150 percent and Icy Feet snare immunity up to 4 seconds from 3. Monk Mighty Ox Kick cooldown drops to 20 seconds from 30, Mistweaver Healing Sphere allows 5 active spheres instead of 3 with 100 percent more healing, and Windwalker Perpetual Paralysis spreads to 3 targets instead of 2, prefers players, and reaches 15 yards instead of 10.
Paladin Spellbreaker gains 50 percent damage, and Retribution Ultimate Retribution lasts 20 seconds instead of 12. Priest Absolute Faith absorption rises 113 percent, and Improved Mass Dispel cuts Mass Dispel cooldown by 75 seconds instead of 60. Rogue Thick as Thieves lasts 10 seconds instead of 6, Death from Above grants 30 percent damage instead of 15, and Outlaw deals 5 percent more damage in PvP.
Shaman Electrocute damage doubles and becomes a rolling periodic. Warlock Bonds of Fel gains 100 percent damage, Bloodstone lasts 18 seconds instead of 12 with a new visual and sound, and Demonology Fel Cleave gains 150 percent damage. What players should watch
Per Blizzard, some of these changes are live the moment they were implemented, while others wait for scheduled realm restarts, and some cannot ship until a client side patch lands. Players should treat the October 6 notes as a live tuning snapshot rather than a final balance promise.
For Mythic and Heroic Venomous Abyss runs, the practical question is whether the softer Spectral Coils, Toxic Burn, Caustic Waves, and Circling Prey numbers change pull pacing and soak assignments. For Devourer Demon Hunters, test whether the single target package meaningfully closes the gap in raid and M+ logs across Consume/Devour, Reap/Cull, Eradicate, Collapsing Star, The Hunt, and Voidblade.
For PvP, the Focused Assault tank package touches every tank specialization at once, so watch whether Tormentor, Murderous Intent, Alpha Challenge, Admonishment, Inquisition, and Oppressor show up more often in rated play. Outlaw Rogues, Enhancement Shamans, and Augmentation Evokers all gained baseline PvP damage, so arena pressure and battleground sustain windows are worth tracking in the week ahead.
