WoW Forever Warrior Leveling Guide: Specs, New Talents, Races, and Dungeon Order
Friday, September 25, 2026By Indie Kings | September 25, 2026
Updated September 25, 2026: World of Warcraft: Forever launches November 4, 2026, with a level 1 to 60 cap, no flying mounts, and no level scaling. Warriors get three specs, a revised talent tree, and at least three confirmed new talents including Spearing Strike, Vanguard, and Raging Blows. This guide covers spec choice, race fit, and dungeon routing, with talent picks framed as a decision framework rather than a fixed build.
Build-stamp notice: Forever is in beta until October 21, 2026, and talent trees change between builds. Every talent claim here is dated to pre-release captures and is not a level 60 balance claim. Treat the trees as live data, not scripture.

Choose your spec first
Warrior is one of nine classes in Forever, and the spec you start on shapes your first twenty levels more than any talent choice will. All three specs are being built to be usable, and Blizzard's stated balance goal across the class is that every spec stays viable in dungeon and raid content rather than one spec carrying the identity while the others limp.
| Consideration | Arms | Fury | Protection |
|---|---|---|---|
| What the player is doing | Two-hand damage, duelling, burst windows | Two-handed damage with self-sustain and rage from damage taken | Damage reduction, threat, and holding enemies in place |
| Solo leveling feel | Slow start, strong finish | Consistent, forgiving | Slow, sturdy, low damage |
| Dungeon role | Damage | Damage, and better when pulling avoidable damage | Tank, and the only Warrior tank option |
| Hardest part | Gearing and managing downtime | Not dying while learning timing | Grinding without feeling useless |
For a first character, Fury and Protection are the forgiving picks. Arms rewards players who already understand how damage gets scaled and managed, and its leveling is noticeably rougher. If your goal is to be the tank in every group you join, Protection is the only Warrior answer, and Forever has no summoning stones and no group finder, which means a tank is always in demand.
What actually changed for Warriors
Blizzard has kept Classic-style talent structure, with familiar rows and the familiar 11, 21, and 31 point milestones, plus a new 16 point milestone. Some former talent buffs moved to baseline, including Blessing of Kings and Divine Spirit.
Away from the original tree, Forever is carrying later-era ability design. The reference transcription of Classic-to-Forever talent comparisons lists twelve Warrior entries, and three stand out for how they change play.
| Talent | What the comparison says | Why it matters while leveling |
|---|---|---|
| Spearing Strike | Dismounts mounted enemies | Passives and quest mobs that arrive on mounts stop being a free fight |
| Vanguard | Lets you Charge from Defensive Stance | Removes a stance-swap penalty from a core gap-closer |
| Raging Blows | Makes Whirlwind use the off-hand | Turns a two-handed attack into a dual-wield damage event |
Read those as direction, not build order. None of them means you should spend points in a fixed order, because the trees are still moving and nobody should publish a point-by-point list from a beta client that changes weekly.
How to think about a Warrior talent row: decide whether the row is buying damage, survivability, or utility before you spend anything. In a game with no flying mounts and dungeon runs that start at your door, movement and threat talents tend to pay for themselves faster than raw damage talents.
That is a framework, not a build. Blessing of Kings being baseline means the old mandatory Strength Blessing shopping argument is gone, which frees enchant and reagent budget for travel and consumables instead.
Race fit for a new Warrior
Warrior is one of the four classes both Skyborne factions can pick, alongside Hunter, Rogue, and Druid. That makes Skyborne a real option for a Warrior, and the paid race is faction-locked at creation, which is a decision worth making once rather than twice.
Beyond Skyborne, Forever adds six race and class combinations that did not exist before, and only one of them touches Warrior-adjacent space. Gnome Priest, Human Hunter, Dwarf Shaman, Orc Mage, Troll Warlock, and Forsaken Paladin are the new pairings, so a Warrior cannot pick up a Warrior-specific racial combination from the new content.
For everything else, the practical fit questions are short. Do you want a racial that helps you survive while pulling, help you chase a target, or help you stay mounted longer? With travel being a genuine time cost in a game with no flight paths, a mobility racial is worth more to a new character than a small damage edge. Our racial reference covers the full list side by side.
Dungeon order by level band
Forever's nine launch dungeons fill the level 1 to 60 curve, and the spread is the single most useful thing a new character can plan around. Dungeons are not on the critical path in Forever, since there is no group finder and no Meeting Stone summon, so treat this as a route rather than a checklist.
| Dungeon | Level band | Where it sits |
|---|---|---|
| Hall of Thanes | 13 to 18 | Royal burial chambers beneath Ironforge |
| Ruins of Lordaeron | 15 to 20 | Reclaiming the city from the Scourge |
| Wetlands Excavation Site | 24 to 29 | Titan constructs above Whelgar's Excavation |
| City of Dalaran | 28 to 33 | Fallen barrier, uncontrolled constructs, wider city |
| The Drowned City | 35 to 40 | Troll, naga, and pirate ruins off Stranglethorn |
| Krol'dok Stronghold | 40 to 55 | Outdoor ogre stronghold in the Riverglades |
| Alcaz Island Prison | 48 to 53 | The prison that stayed locked through vanilla |
| Blackmaw Hold | 55 to 60 | Furbolg city, tunnels leading toward the Barrow Deeps |
| Shaper's Terrace | 58 to 60 | Announced in the lineup, details still thin |
Two practical notes. Krol'dok Stronghold spans fifteen levels, so it can carry a single character across a huge chunk of the run. And Blackmaw Hold's tunnels point at the Barrow Deeps, so doing it at 55 to 60 sets up the ten-player raid when raids unlock on December 9.
How to find a group without a finder
Forever has a Looking For Group browser, but it is the Classic-style version. It helps you organise a group. It does not auto-match you and it does not teleport anyone.
- Meeting Stone summon: not present. The Burning Crusade behaviour does not carry over.
- Automatic group finder: not present.
- Looking For Group browser: present, Classic style, organise only.
- Teleport to the instance: not present.
- Warlock Ritual of Summoning: works, and needs two party members physically at the destination.
That last line is the whole job market in one sentence. A Protection Warrior with a group invite is valuable precisely because pulling a full run to a door requires someone already standing there. If you want dungeons to happen, be the person who is already there.
Respecs and experimentation
Beta testing on September 24 dropped respec costs to one silver, and Blizzard's talent revisions are still landing. Between a cheap respec and a tree that is actively being reworked, the correct play is to try things early rather than treat your first pick as permanent.
Season of Discovery class quests are also returning to Forever, which matters for Warriors specifically because a class quest chain is a natural place to pick up early weapon skills and a feel for the spec before you commit.
FAQ
When does World of Warcraft: Forever launch?
November 4, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. PST globally, with access included in an active subscription or Game Time, per Blizzard's announcement.
What is the level cap and is there level scaling?
The cap is 60, there is no level scaling, and there are no flying mounts, per Blizzard's What is Next panel recap.
Which Warrior spec should a new player pick?
Fury or Protection for a forgiving start. Arms has a rougher leveling curve and rewards players who already understand damage scaling.
What new Warrior talents are confirmed?
Spearing Strike, Vanguard, and Raging Blows, from the Classic-to-Forever talent comparison. Full context is in our class changes coverage.
Can a Warrior be a Skyborne?
Yes. Warriors, Hunters, Rogues, and Druids are available to both factions, and Skyborne Druids get race-specific forms.
Is there a dungeon finder in Forever?
No. There is a Classic-style Looking For Group browser that organises only, and players travel to dungeon entrances themselves.
Bottom Line
Warrior is a good first class in Forever for players who want a clear role and an early path into groups, and a rough one for players who want damage without a learning curve. Pick Fury or Protection, treat the tree as provisional because the betas keep moving it, and lean into the travel requirement rather than fighting it. A tank who is already standing at the dungeon door solves a problem the rest of the group cannot solve for themselves, and that is worth more than any single talent point in a game where respecs cost a silver.
