What the port does
Per handheld.guru, the community port lets you run Metroid Dread on PC at up to 240 FPS instead of the 30 FPS limit the game had on Switch. Cutscenes and loading screens are also fixed to run at 60 FPS, which addresses the uneven frame pacing that caused stutters at high refresh rates.
Requirements and options
You need your own dumped copy of the game, version 2.1.0 or later, before installing the port. Graphics layers are OpenGL, which is recommended, and an experimental native Vulkan mode. Aspect ratios include 16:10 and 21:9, so ultrawide monitors and non standard laptop displays are supported. Controllers include Xbox pads, Switch Pro, Joy Cons, DualShock 4, DualSense and 8BitDo.
